Description: Applications are open for the 2026 first intake at EbonyLife Creative Academy in Lagos, the training arm set up by Mo Abudu and backed by the Lagos State Creative Industry Initiative under the state Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Eight practical tracks are on offer: Acting for Screen, The Art of Screenwriting, Producing for Success, The Directors Toolkit, Cinematography and Lighting, Sound Recording and Production, Production Design and Art Direction, and Visual Post-Production. The academy states no closing date on its site, so applications appear to run on a rolling basis (date shown here set to 2026-10-10 for listing purposes only; check the course page for the intake cut-off). Courses are short, hands-on and taught by working professionals.
Requirements: Open both to newcomers hoping to break in and to people already working in the industry who want to add a skill. Each track has its own entry requirements set out on its course page. Training takes place in Lagos.
Pay: No tuition: the programmes are free, funded through the Lagos State Creative Industry Initiative. This is training, not a paid engagement.
How to apply: Go to https://ebonylifecreativeacademy.com/ , open the page for the course you want and use its dedicated application link, which leads to the academy's Classe365 admissions portal.
