How we verify casting calls

Trust is the product. This is exactly what happens before a listing goes online — and every day after.

Before publication

1. We open the original source. Every listing must come from a real, reachable page: a production company, an agency, a theatre, a festival, an official announcement. If the source does not answer or does not contain the call, the listing does not enter.
2. We check who is asking. A named production, a role, a date or an identifiable organisation must exist. Anonymous "opportunities" with only a social handle are rejected.
3. We check the money. If candidates are asked to pay anything — registration, membership, "premium application", any fee to apply — the listing is rejected and the domain goes on our blacklist. Unpaid but serious roles (student films, community theatre) are welcome and clearly marked.
4. We rewrite honestly. Each listing is written in the language of the country where the casting takes place, with the requirements, pay and contacts in the open.

Every day after

5. Expired listings are removed automatically. What you see is open.
6. A daily sweep re-checks the whole board against the blacklist of pay-to-apply sites: if a domain turns bad, its listings disappear.
7. Duplicates are merged, so the same casting does not appear five times from five aggregators.

What the badges mean

On every listing you find: ✓ Verified source (we opened the original page), ✓ No fee to apply (nobody asks you for money), and the date of the last check.

Report a listing

Seen something wrong — a fee request, a dead link, a suspicious reply? Every listing has a ⚑ Report button, or write to openshow.contact@gmail.com with the listing link. Reports are read every day; a confirmed problem removes the listing and blacklists the source.
