Description: American Idol is running virtual audition days for singers from the southern and midwestern states. The 8 September 2026 round covers Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas; the 23 September 2026 round covers Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Contestants register through the official portal, pick a slot and then sing live to producers over Zoom.
Requirements: Born between 2 June 1997 and 15 February 2012, legally resident in the United States with work authorisation, and never a previous winner of the show. Prepare two songs that show your range and what makes you distinctive; depending on the format you may sing a cappella or over a backing track.
Pay: Free to enter, no submission fee. No fee is paid for the audition itself.
How to apply: Sign up through the official registration portal linked in the notice, choose one of the two virtual audition dates and perform live on Zoom.
