Background and character extras — ongoing registration with Colt Talent

Description: Colt Talent has been supplying character performers, featured extras, stand-ins and background artists to South African and international productions since 2002. The agency works on TV commercials, feature films, stills campaigns and series, and says new casting requests arrive daily, with the busiest period for stills and commercials running from October to April. This is a permanently open talent database, not a one-off audition: applications are accepted all year round, so the closing date shown here (10 October 2026) is a conventional one used for this listing.

Requirements: Adults and performers of all looks and backgrounds who are based in or near Cape Town and can be flexible with their time, including irregular hours. Anyone invited to a casting is expected to arrive looking professional and to bring a portfolio or CV.

Pay: Paid work: fees are set per production and per booking day, agreed when a performer is selected for a job. No amount is published in advance. Registering with the agency is free of charge.
