NIFCA 2026 – Adult Film/Video competition: call for Barbadian filmmakers

Description: The National Cultural Foundation is accepting entries for the Adult Film/Video competition of NIFCA 2026. Works are scored on technical quality (brightness, contrast, colour, lighting, sound), technique (direction, continuity, camera work, editing, composition, production design), content (concept, style, adherence to theme) and originality. Entries scoring 91-100 take Gold, 81-90 Silver and 70-80 Bronze. The new Mission Barbados prize rewards a medalling work that engages with the theme of National Transformation across the country's six national missions.

Requirements: Open to citizens of Barbados or legal residents; anyone who is neither must show evidence of actively pursuing legal residence. Adult category. Completed entry form and the film/video itself must reach the NCF by the deadline.

Pay: No entry fee is stated in the rules. Cash prizes are awarded in the competition, including a trophy and BBD $3,000 for the highest scoring entry reaching 91% or more in the NIFCA Film/Video competitions, plus the Business Entrepreneur Prize, the environmental sustainability award (BBD $2,500) and the Mission Barbados prize (BBD $2,500 and a trophy).
